Imagine if all players were the same – with the same strengths, difficulties, preferences, interests, values, and goals. There wouldn’t be the same excitement, interest, innovation, and amazement that makes us love the game. The same can be said about life.
Diversity can include things like ancestry, culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, language, abilities, religion, sexual orientation, age and others.
This includes visible features like skin, hair colour, body shape, abilities, clothing, etc. It also includes invisible features like values, beliefs, neurological differences (e.g., Autism, ADHD).
It also includes invisible features like values, beliefs, mental wellness, interests, goals.
Diversity makes our society stronger and richer. This diversity helps us to learn from each other, including understanding different perspectives, new ways of thinking, new knowledge and different life experiences.
