Bullying Prevention 2: Sense of Belonging
SENSE OF BELONGING
A sense of belonging is a basic human need, just like the need for shelter and food.
Humans, as social beings, require meaningful social connections. These connections within various cultural and social groups could be with people such as our classmates, friends, families, neighbours, and other caring adults.
What do connections do for us?
These connections to others help shape our identity, and contribute to our sense of purpose and meaning.
Having a sense of belonging is important to our overall well-being
