These are five traits that have been shown to exist in a happy person (VIA Character Inst.)
- HOPE – having positive expectations about the future. It is involving optimistic thinking and a focus on good things to come.
- ZEST – Approaching a situation with excitement and energy, not half-heartedly. It’s dynamic and linked to psychological wellness.
- GRATITUDE – Felling and expressing deep sense of thankfulness in life and taking the time to thank others. Also a way to look at the contribution of others on your successes. Grateful people possess positive emotions like being humble, more persistent and kinder.
- LOVE – refers to the degree to which you value a close relationship with others and contribute in a warm and genuine way. Love is reciprocal.
- CURIOSITY – To explore and discover and take interest in ongoing experience. Being open to new experience or learn a new fact.
Other important traits that help to cope with bullying
- Resilience – Having resilience means that you are able to bounce back in the face of adversity
- Empathy – When you can put yourself in someone else's shoes to understand or feel what that person is experiencing.
- Optimism – This is having hopefulness and confidence that the future will be better.
- Kindness and Caring – Making others feel like they matter and doing simple things for someone like sitting beside them, saying hi in the hall or just acknowledging they are around can really help people through the difficulties of bullying
