Some other activities that have been utilized to improve culture include:
Poster Initiatives
Identify key messages and have them placed strategically around the school
Announcements
Morning announcements with your key messages or inspirational messaging
Assemblies
Develop your own assembly for the rest of the student body and/or younger students in your school. In some cases, check with your administration as you may be able to host an assembly for your feeder schools
Town Hall Meetings
Hosted for various groups to be able to voice their opinions
Activities Around Bullying Prevention Days
Pink Shirt Day (February), Pink Day for Homophobic Bullying Prevention (April), Bully Awareness week (Third week of November)
Peer Mentoring
Providing support for those requiring a listening ear
Representation on the School Admin Safe School Action Team
You can have someone from your team represented on your school staff safe school team
Recognition Awards
Methods to recognize student’s positive achievements around bullying prevention and promoting acts of kindness
Creation of Parent Resources
Develop resources for the parents of your school community
Host a Community Event
Host an event that not only serves the students in your school but assists the entire community surrounding your school
Develop Social Media Outreach
Create a platform/app that can serve students’ needs around bullying prevention
Activities of Yoga Meditation
Create a destress activity to help with the anxiety your students may feel throughout the school year.
Create a "Friendship Space"
Designate a place in your school where students can gather - both students who want to spread kindness and students in need of peer support. It could be a hallway bench, a cafeteria or library table, or anywhere that works.
