HUDdle up activation

Student empowerment has been an important part of Huddle Up for over 20 years with student committees applying their creativity to come up with activations and initiatives that have become a staple in their school years later. The following is a summary of some ideas that have been implemented to assist you in organizing your own Huddle Up student committee.

Every month there are different days that raise awareness for particular causes. Eg. Are Pink shirt day, International Women’s Day, Black History Month, Mental Health Awareness week. Acknowledge these days around through your ongoing campaign.

Facilitate Awareness Days

Encourage your student leaders to come up with a pledge and commitment to be safe and inclusive. Display this banner at an assembly or in the school foyer.

HuddleUp Pledge

Your student leaders can challenge classes to make posters or creative art to put on display that aligns with your awareness campaign.

Hallway Art

Your student leaders may already have a favourite charity of choice, but the MLSE Foundation supports many groups around social justice that you can support alongside our teams and organization.

Fundraise for Social Justice Awareness Groups

Starting in February, Huddle Up will announce various challenges for schools participating in the Huddle Up program. You can initiate your own school challenge and utilize the winners as your school submissions.
