Understanding Justice

What Zone are you In?

Vigorous
Physical Activity

● I advocate for leaders and decisions that are anti-racist

● I speak up when I see racism in action

● I educate my peers about how racism affects others

● I surround myself with others that think and look differently than me

● I don’t let mistakes stop me from being better

● I embrace difficult conversations as opportunities for growth

Warm-Up / Moderate Physical Activities

● I recognize that racism is a current problem

● I seek out questions that make me uncomfortable

● I understand that my privilege enables me to ignore racism

● I educate myself about racism

● I listen to others who think and look differently than me

Standing Still

● I deny that racism is a problem
● I only talk to others who look and think like me
● I want conversations to always be comfortable
● I avoid hard questions

For optimal peak performance in life as an anti-racist, we must strive to stay in the vigorous physical activity zone as much as possible. While this can be challenging, when we exercise our heart and minds to take action to address all forms of racism and discrimination, we create a healthier mind, body and spirit for ourselves, and a healthier community for everyone on the team.

What zone are you in now and what are you doing to improve and/or maintain a healthy anti-racist zone?
